What todo in mid-north Wales
After a week in the Cotswolds next June, my W and I will be traveling north towards Scotland. I have never been in Wales other than the south and am looking to spend about 4-5 nights on my way to Edinburgh. Ideas? I am curious to see Potmerian, Conwy, and ——-?

Loved Portmeirion, but I'm a huge "Prisoner" fan! I was warned away from it, but definitely one of the highlights of Wales for me.
Conwy is wonderful. The castle and the city walls.
Also Caernarfon. I suspect we will have a new Prince of Wales standing on the slate circle in my lifetime, but I remember the last installation. I'm sure the people of Wales would rather it not occur.
The whole coast is beautiful, at least the parts I have seen. Aberaeron was a terrific stop...

We loved Portmeirion, too--lovely room (in Castell Deudraeth), fun to walk around in, nice "The Prisoner" tour; it was not crowded, being in very early June, which probably made some difference.
Conwy is great; pick which ever castles--Conwy, Harlech, Caernarfon, etc.-- you want and won't go wrong!
Our favorite BandB (maybe ever!) was Glandyfi Castle near Machynlleth (sorta near Aberdyfi); it's off any beaten bath, but oh so lovely.
