Sharing Paris Snowstorm Photos
Hi All,
This is sort of a trip report - photos from the recent snow storm in Paris. They got about 5", which is the most in twenty years, from what I've heard. They had a couple inches five years ago, but this was more and stayed on the ground several days. Caused gridlock on the highways, where people either spent the night in their cars, or abandoned them in the middle of the road. Some came back in the morning to find their cars had been towed, but didn't know where to fetch them.
The photos are from around the Eiffel Tower and Trocadero area. The subway was running fine in most cases. The RER was still having some issues from recent flooding.

Enjoy!

tell me about it! And yet, since it happens so infrequently, it's not worth it for them to invest in a lot of equipment. Just suffer a couple of days every several years. Officially I've heard it was 12 cm I think. Still!

Haven't been to Paris and have only seen snow a few times in my life, so really enjoyed your opportunity to photograph in such unusual conditions.
Your photography is art, always enjoy your creative perspective and narrative.

Nice photos.
I have been lucky enough to be in Paris for two snowstorms. I arrived in the March storm five years ago and the plane had to make two passes at the runway at CDG. A few years before that, my husband and I were in Paris in February when it snowed. We passed some police officers scooping snow off the parked cars and throwing snow balls at each other down the block from the apartment where we were staying. It’s very fun to see people so excited about snow. And it wasn’t just tourists who were walking around taking pictures of everything.

Hi Nikki,
Either you go to Paris a lot, or you were really, really lucky! Thanks for sharing the fun story.
