for Songdoc .Prague

thought I would start a new thread for this. So you have read my trip reports ,there are loads more on Trip Advisor ,the links don't work now as I removed all my reviews from TA(that's another story)
I have been visiting Prague for nearly 25 years and visit at least 3 times a year now( thank you low cost carriers).
Prague is an amazing city just wandering around is amazing and you will see all forms of architecture, loads of great parks to have a wander and plenty of places for day trips.

http://www.prague.net/
this is a great website for what to see and do so have a good look, there are sections for Itineraries and links to info on all the sites major and minor though some of the prices and opening times may be out of date.
https://livingprague.com/
this is another great website especially for info on how to get around and places to stay.
Jason who runs the website also does small group tours and they are great 99% 5 star rating on TA and the other 1% is 4 stars.
Jason just happens to be a very good friend of mine and we always meet up when I am in the city,I have know Jason for over 10 years long before he became a full time guide.

these are a couple of links to walks you can do yourselves that will take you to interesting parts of the city.
Prague has a superb integrated public transport system, cheap and very efficient , the 2 main links I gave earlier have loads of info about the public transport, really is good and very easy to use.
Loads of great bars an restaurants but once you get somewhere to stay I can help you with places to go. Can't believe you don't drink beer, at least have a taste some very good stuff around ,there are also some good wine bars but I am no expert on them.
hope this helps in your planning and if you need any info just ask .I am also on the Trip Advisor Prague forum if you ever go on there.

Thank you SO much for all the great info!

FYI, I gave up alcohol and sugar 37 years ago. But I promise...life is still worth living ;-).

Bookmarking!! Thank you unclegus!!

If you had to pick a season in which to visit, would you go in December or summer? I went to Germany last year before Christmas, and I’m debating between visiting Prague/Vienna/Krakow/Budapest at the same time of year, or going in the summer instead. So winter 2018 or summer 2019. Pros/cons?

Summer every time, winter is great but in the summer you can spend so much time outdoors and the Czech just love being outside, loads of places to have a walk,go swimming, rowing etc and there seems to be pop up bars and refreshment stalls everywhere.you also have long summer days and it does not get dark till around 10pm and sometimes later. I have a friend that has a faily large garden so I am often there for barbeques or just eating and drinking al-fresco.

this is basically my home when I am in Prague in the good weather, fantastic views across the city, some great beer and not bad food if you like chicken and chips ,kebabs or sausages but there is also an on site restaurant there.
I usually head out to the country for walks even in the winter time and there is always a place to finsih up with a bite to eat and a beer or three. The public transport system is great and easy to take a train or bus to one point and walk to another point and get a bus or train back to your starting point.
Winter time it is cold and can be very wet you also have a lot less daylight, advatage is that the toursit areas are a lot less crowded but over the Christmas period you do have the markets which are very nice
