White water rafting the Pacuare River April

Can anyone reccomend a good rafting outfit to use for the Pacuare River? I know Expladores Outdoors does the river plus 2 or 3 night package in Tortuguero...can you tell me if the package with them is worth it or is it better to do it separately...or if there is a better outfit to use. Thanks Bill

You might also check Rios Tropicales. We used them for another trip, and they were excellent. I know they go on the Pacuare as well. They do one day trips and also overnight trips where you can stay at their lodge.

http://geckotrail.com/

I've read several good trip reports on Gecko Trail Adventures from people who have rafted the Pacuare and went on to Puerto Viejo area. I have not personally used them, but their name pops up a lot on lists of recommended tour agencies.

Hello!, well you might check another companies that offers that tour, in Costa Rica you can always find a better price if you ask, even more you can try to mix that rafting with something like canopy, there is a lot of tour that includes that two things, Hoping that this is useful for you , just let me know if further questions come to your mind.

Regards

We were very happy with Exploradores Outdoors both times we used them for the Pacuare. We've also used Gecko Trails to arrange the transfers, lodging and rafting on two separate occasions.

Rafting is one area where I would not try to save money by going with an unknown operator--I would go with a well-established operator with a proven safety record. We highly recommend Rios Tropicales, but have heard nothing but praise for Exploradores.

I've always wanted to stay at one of those overnight lodges - either the Rios Tropicales one or the Pacuare Lodge. They look amazing.
