Has anyone stayed at the Riu Palace in the Playa del Carmen of Mexico? If so, what were the accommodations like & how was the food? Do they have a coffee maker in the room? Any positive (or negative) comments please.

yes,three riu properties in pdc-palace is best, mandatory dress(slacks & shirt)for dinner, food ok, pre dinner entertainment, dead quite by 10:00 pm, town fun to stroll but medimum resturants-trinket shopping, why go? beaches-tranquility-space for you and yours to enjoy-been to many island beaches and this is one of our top five favorites-if rest & relaxation in a quality resort with little activity and serene scenry is the reason for your trip the riu palace in pdc will win your heart fyi riu is large resort chain out of spain

Go to the Forums page of www.riuhotels.com and you will get all your questions answered there. We stayed at the Yucatan next door and are heading back there this feb. We only have good things to say.

No coffee makers in room, but room service will deliver - take advantage of the all inclusive - why make your own? No radios or clocks in room either. All rooms are the same, balcony or terrace, tub & shower and 2 beds pushed together to make a giant KING! Plus, lots of closet space. Food - 3 buffets and 1 a la carte restaurant. You have access to all 4 Riu resorts & can eat breakfast and lunch at the others if you need more variety (5 min. walk). Have fun!

Irene or Louise: <BR>My friend & I have booked Riu Palace for last week of Feb.-I've received all the details from riu website (Irene-could not access Dean & Cindy's website?) and other responses. Question: Are all the meals that are buffet,let's say at lunchtime, in the restaurants or do they offer anything outside, i.e. poolside. I understand there are several different restaurants(one that's Brazilian-reservations needed) and proper attire at dinner, <BR>but if we plan to enjoy the weather all day, do we have to go in and change just for lunch? We have never stayed at an all-inclusive and would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
