Hi. We didn't stay at the Paradise Village. But we stayed In Nuevo Vallarta and actually saw it a few times. I also know a few people who have stayed there and they loved it. One family loved it so much, they have gone 3 times. It looked very lush with lots of palm trees and a beautiful large swimming pool. I do know it has a zoo, too. Being that we stayed in the Nuevo district,I do know the resorts all seem to have a wider beach than the resorts in Puerto Vallarta. Also, across the street is a shopping mall. It is about a 10 minute bus ride to town. It is very close to the marina, too. The marina has many restaurants and is nice to walk around.I wish I could tell you more, but hopefully someone else will also reply.

My wife and i stayed a couple of hotels down at the Allegro. one day we met an older couple who had a timeshare there and gave us a tour of the grouds. It is very impressive and as someone said it has a small zoo (and an ostrich that runs around on the grounds). The entire complex is on a mayan theme and there seems to be plenty of things to do (bars, resturants, outdoors stuff, pools with water slides, ect). There is a mall beside the property which has maybe 5 resturants in it but other than that there doesnt seem to be any other than what are in the individual hotels. The beach is fantastic in nuevo, far superior to puertos beach. vallarta adventures are in nuevo and have lots of fun tours including diving. right outside the paradise i saw some people snorkling near a rock jetty. it is about 15 to 30 minutes from the hotel to the malecon in town. a cab will run you about 100 pesos or $11US. there is a bus you can pick up at the mall that costs 10 pesos and takes you to the sheraton in town (bout 4 blocks from the malecon ). if you take the bus between 3 and 5 pm many of the workers are getting off and take the bus home so there is more stops and it takes longer. we generally took the bus into town and cabs to pick up our tours. i believe there is a car rental in the mall and also one about a 1/2 mile down the road from the paradise. as far as bird watching i saw a toucan or parrott of some sort in the palms while i was jogging one morning other than that the usual suspects. oh yes walk down the beach past the sierra and the fenced lot and there is a sea turtle sanctuary. there was a couple of britsh college kids there the day we walked by and we saw hundreds of baby sea turtles well worth the look (watch out for the time share folks they will try to make you believe that if you go into the hotel next to the sanctuary you can help the trurtles. wife and i bit... it was a pain in the ass. oh by the way the paradise are some of the most irratating time share hawkers in all of NV and PV. they are all over your hotel property, the mall andeverywhere in downtown puerto. i found telling them i was leaving in the morning kept them from bothering me as much. they are unrelenting. well have fun and feel free to email me if you have any other question about nuevo or puerto

John

Hi Debbie
Paradise Village is a great place for a family vacation. We first went there six years ago with friends. We were so enthralled with the place, we purchased a time-share, and have never regretted it. We have returned every year since, sometimes with family, and sometimes alone. The grounds are spacious and beautiful, the beach is wide and very safe for children (shallow water for a good distance), two large pools (one quiet, one for activities), a great spa, fabulous, spacious rooms, a marina with numerous tours available, children's programs, a small zoo your children will like. There are planned free activities for all age groups throughout the day, and you can choose to be part of them or not. The resort has its own car rental agency, however, we only use cabs or public transportation. There is an express bus at the entrance of the resort which goes downtown every 20 minutes. There are restaurants at the resort as well as several others in the adjoining mall. There are kitchens in every room, and a grocery store on-site. Although it is a time-share which also operates as a hotel, we have never found the sales-people to be agressive once you are at the resort. There are agressive sales-people at the airport, downtown, and outside the resort, however, just ignore them and come to the resort. We think this is the best spot in the Puerto Vallarta area. You won't be disappointed. Feel free to e-mail me.

We were promised a discount on activities in the area from these people after we went on a 90 minute (turned into 3 hours)presentation and they did not pay up! The manager even promised the gift to us after we complained and she would not honor her word! She would not even show her face when we revisited to claim our gift. They are dishonest people and should be avoided!

The place looked like a kids' paradise-huge safe beach, great pool with waterslides. What bothered me there was the large number of kids running around screaming! and the fact they kept a tiger (or some type of large cat, I can't remember) in a cage right next to the tennis courts where balls which occasionally get hit into the cat's cage. Politically very incorrect.
