Moon Palace in Playa del Carmen

Has anyone been there that can comment on this hotel and the area? My wife and I will be traveling with our two teenage sons. We're going in April.

Steve,
Moon Palace is not acrually in Playa Del Carmen. It is considered to be in Cancun, although it's about 20 minutes to downtown, really on the outskirts of Cancun. Playa Del Carmen is apx. 45 minutes south of Moon Palace.
My husband and I were there in Nov. of last year. Personally, we would not stay there again, because it is so isolated.
As for the hotel, it's fine if you like All Inclusives. The pool area is very nice. As for the room, well, it was farily good size, but as for the jacuzzi, we only used ours once, as the water that came out of the tap was very brown!

Hi Steve. Do a search for Moon Palace. Click on exact phrase match, Mexico and enter Moon Palace and a whole bunch of posts will come up with information that should satisfy. In particular, look for a post dated Feb 19/2000 by a lady named Sue I believe. Anyhow, it's very comprehensive and should answer all your questions.

We enjoyed it so much, we joined Palace resorts, Moon is our home resort so each year we plan to visit one of the Palace resorts with Moon as our 1st choice, while there the teenagers seemed to have good time, there is no sense of danger at the resort and you see children behaving yet un attended, We do plan to take our 15 year old @ aome time. Most of the people who work at the resort are teenagers so they should have a good time.Cancun Moon Palace should find you more in Love with each other and the Mayan Riveria,we were in the Pez Bldg and the view of the Carribean was spectacular. As stated earlier We Shall return again and again
Loved it

We went to Moon Palace for our honeymoon and had a great time. The only thing about staying there...the beach isn't that great...lots of seaweed, but the pool is wonderful and makes up for it. I'm normally a beach person, but I very much enjoyed the pool...being near bathrooms...going to the swim-up bars. There is so much to do at the Moon Palace that you almost don't need to leave the resort. Seeing as though you have teenagers, you might want to consider a different hotel. The Moon Palace is secluded, whereas if you stay in the hotel zone, you would be able to walk to places. There are other Palace Resorts that are in the hotel zone, that might work better with your situation.
