Mayan Palace, Nuevo Vallarta

Looking at booking a 2 bedroom timeshare at this resort. Has anyone used the kayaks, paddle boats, etc. and if so, is the cost to use these items reasonable? Also, if taking a bus to town, approx. how long would the bus ride be compared to the 15 minutes by taxi?
Any other comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

We will also be staying at the Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta (Sept 02). Looking forward to seeing any comments about this one. Their website isn't very good.

If you don't already have a timeshare there, watch out for the attack you'll get if you walk through their lobby or common areas. Timeshare sharks are everywhere and the ones from this place are all over Nuevo and PV. They are by far, the most aggressive, pressuring and rudest people of all the timeshares and they are giving PV a bad name for sure.

I would be happy to assist you at Mayan Palace NV--I have one bedroom, but could give you two and would be very flexible on price. Please respond at my Email address if interested and get back to me. Best regards, Liz

My family stayed at this establishment. It was spotlessly clean with fabulous service. The grounds and pool are wonderful. The food at the pool and restaurants was reasonable and excellent. The problem with this place is that it is so far from town; we used taxis and it cost 15 dollars each way; we went in summer and it was too hot to ride in the bus. Also, a shuttle must be taken from the hotel to the bus stop. As for the kayaks, the pond on the hotel was not very appealing for anything. I can recommend Vallarta Adventures, their tours and activites were just wonderful.
