Cozumel On Our Own??
Hi all!
My daughter and her cousin (ages22,21) will be in Cozumel for one day in March. They are hesitant about booking one of the excursions offerred by Celebrity and were thinking about venturing out on their own by hiring the services of a taxi driver.
Is this a good idea, and if so, how much can they expect to pay for about 4 hours?
Any recommendations of what they should do/see? Great snorkelling beaches?
Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

They don't really need to hire a taxi for an entire day. What do they like to do? Shop, dine, lay on a beach, snorkel, dive? Unless they want to take a trip completely around the island (and there's not that much to see) everything can be easily done with a simple taxi ride to town or the beach.
Give me some more information and I'll be glad to help.

Do they know which pier their ship uses to dock? If it's Punta Langusto, they won't even need a taxi to get into town. They will be in town. They can easily walk around to shop or dine. A taxi a day beach called, The Money Bar, wouldn't cost much. From there they can snorkel, eat, drink, lay in the sun. There are lots of beaches like that.
