Cancun/Playa del Carmen - looking for roomate/travel buddy

Hi!

I'm a female in my late 20s looking for a travel buddy (preferably female) for my trip to the Yucatan Peninsula from December 10, 2009-January 10, 2010.

I'm hoping to hit up the usual - Mayan Ruins, water sports, jungle and adventure treks, snorkelling, and just plain lazy days on the beach.

I already have my flight booked and I'm trying to save money on accomodations by renting a condo for the 1-month period. I have found a vacation rental - a 2-bedroom/2-bath condo with a pool near the beach in Playa del Carmen - that the owner has offered for $65/night. Since there will be a spare bedroom, I'm hope to share the unit with someone else looking for a place that is at least 4* in quality, but not in the price. This will mean $33/night/person - which would leave us both with lots of spare change for adventure activities.

You don't have to stay for the entire month - and you don't have to travel around with me if you prefer not to (it would just be nice to travel with someone else).

Thanks!

Hiya

I'm planning on spending a couple of weeks in the Yucatan between 19th - 30th Dec (my mate who I was going with has just flaked), so I'm very interested to see your post. I haven't quite decided if I want to stay in Playa Del Carmen yet, or head out and find some quieter places. But, thought I'd get in touch anyway. I too am up for Mayan ruins, treks etc, and def a bit of lazy beach! I'll be heading north to meet some mates and go climbing for the rest of my trip.

Oo, and I'm female, in my early 30's, live in London, have done a fair bit of travelling, love the outdoors, but also love gigs and bars, and would like to not necessarily be on my own either.

Hope this finds you well, cheers, Ruth

Hi Ruth

Thanks so much for responding to my post - and apologies for my delayed response.

I would very much like to travel throughout the area with you from the 19th-30th if you're interested. There is no way to send private messages to each other through this site so please do contact e-mail me at [email protected] so that we can discuss further.

There is another female from the US that messaged me (via another travel site) about traveling together at the same time, in the same area, and doing the same activities. If you're ok with it, maybe we can all explore the area together?

Looking forward to hearing from you...
