Guancaste or Manual Antonio in Costa Rica???
I am planning a trip for our family of 5 to CR in March. We would like to see wildlife, go rafting, a spend a lot of time relaxing on the beach. Would you recommend staying at a resort in Guancaste or staying around Manuel Antonio Park? If we were to do both, would it eat up a lot of time traveling? Thank you!

We like the Manuel Antonio area; it has good infrastructure, lots of hotel and restaurant choices, lots of wildlife around including monkeys and sloths, and the roads are in good shape. It's a more lush jungly area than Guanacaste - that area gets less rain so could be dry and dusty in March. MA has a beautiful beach inside the national park. We like to stay at Tulemar Bungalows; they also have their own beach.

I really like the Arenal area - it has the volcano, beautiful natural hot springs like Tabacon and Eco Termales, lots of adventure activities, the Bogarin Trail where you can see sloths, the Cano Negro tour, the Penas Blancas safari float, hiking at the Arenal Observatory Lodge and Hanging Bridges. It depends on how much time you have, but since Costa Rica is so diverse it's nice to see two different areas.
