Quite some time ago but I stayed at a good 4 star hotel Antares. From the hotel, Kleinmatterhorn cablecar station was 5 minutes slow walk in ski shoes.

With the earliest train leaving Zermatt at 05.55(change at Visp) you will arrive at Geneva airport station at 09.42. Then 5 min.walk to the airport check-in counters. That's very tight. If you are not comfortable with this, you would have to request a tranfser service to your hotel, which should be as far as remember, as follows.
Hotel to Zermattspiss parking by the hotel's electric car - change to a taxi for Geneva airport. This might cost aroud 3 times than taking the trains.

We stayed at the Hotel Julien (sp?) several years ago. Wonderful hotel. They also had a cheaper alternative, the Hotel Orion.

Don't know what your budget is, but I recently stayed at the Coeur des Alpes which is right near the Furi lift. I just posted a review on this hotel and it was outstanding.

My husband and son stayed at the Hotel Sonne twice last ski season. Very nice place, excellent hosts, food, etc but when I checked with them for a few days next March, the costs seemed a lot higher than before. However, the location is great. Depends on your budget.

Hi kane50,

There is a *chance* you could take the train and make your flight -- if you're flying Swiss. If so, you can check in at the train station the night before you leave -- check your bags and get a boarding pass. Then on the morning you leave, you'd only have to clear security and get to the gate after getting to the airport at 09.42.

Unfortunately, you can only do this if you're flying Swiss.

Hope this helps!
