I've read so many excellent reports here.... but
Maitai Tom always leaves my laughing. (As does any report on Muffy's shenanigans.)

I loved Marigross report on walking El Camino de Santiago! Just recently a really nice young lady went to Spain and posted a wonderful report on her Madrid trip. I can't remember the name, but it was such a nice report.

I have to say I dislike the ones that detailed every single plate of food they get and pictures to prove it! So tacky.

I read the funniest/best/very informative trip report yesterday by someone who went with her daughter to Venice, then Florence, finally Rome, where she tripped over the foot of a policeman and went down on her face, injuring herself quite seriously. She made light of it, but it sounded horrendous -- two hospital visits, facial swelling, bleeding, broken eye glasses, saved by superglue, etc. She and her daughter then spent one further night in Paris before flying home to the US.

This link was within another trip report, either Paris or Rome. I would like to find that link again and reread some of it for bookmarking purposes.

Anything by Ekscrunchy makes my mouth water!

The turnips excessively long Czech Republic trip report. Prague, Kutna Hora, Pavlov, Trebon & Cesky Krumlov.

I cried laughing when I read the part about the mud bath/spa experience. The rest was pretty good as well.

In addition to Thin and Elvira, I always enjoyed CrazyMina's trip reports. I don't think anyone has mentioned her yet.

I'm a relative newbie. Two reports I've enjoyed greatly in the past year or two:

As different as can be but both touching in their own way.

Besides Travelgirl's trip of a lifetime, I like the one where two couples went to Italy and before the trip the OP and spouse got botox and their luggage didn't arrive in Rome and they had to go underwear shopping....

Apres Londee's "Super Low Budget" trip to Paris. I hope she comes back to finish it!

I'm saddened to read Viajero's comment that trip reports with food detail is perceived as tacky. I included a good amount of detail on our meals in my Paris report because my sole reason (almost) for travel is food and that's what I love to read about in others' reports as well.

To each his/her own...

I love the detailed food descriptions! I was embarrassed when I wrote my trip report that I couldn't remember many details about menus, costs, etc. The very detailed reports on restaurants in Rome and Florence made our Italian trip much more delicious than it otherwise would have been.

I, for one, although not a foodie per se, enjoy other people's food reports...EKSCRUNCHY's for example...and Roz and I had the good pleasure of joining her in Shanghai to see her order from the menu! Classic..and what a great meal.

I love the food details.
Especially those written by HRH of the FFF (Fodorite Foodie Forum)

I recently learned how to make the headers on paragraphs in bold so that each person can read, skim ,or bypass the sections as desired.
I myself am guilty as charged of such "tacky " verbose descriptions when it comes to food and flamenco.

I love all the food descriptions too! Reading them made my trip to Rome last year so much more enjoyable...we had some really terrific meals thanks to Fodorites! :)

Part of the benefit of writing a food report is memorializing what you ate. Even if nobody else finds it useful, when I return to a restaurant I like to know what I ate.

But also, when going to a restaurant someone recommended, it's good to know what they ate. Many restaurants do some dishes really well and others not so well.

Several years ago there was a young female student living in Pau. Her stay was quite entertaining, although I don't recall her name...

So many! I loved Barb's trip report to Rome with her friends...hilarious! Maitaitom's are always fun to read, and TexasAggie does a great job with descriptions.
