Your favorite trip reports

Looking at the large number of great European trip reports here, what reports do you remember most?

yk2004 Apr 29th, 2008 03:21 PM

I remember mine the best, obviously. ;)

Of the recent ones, I like artstuff's one on Bavaria Germany the most.

LuckyLuc in Paris. It was wonderful:

And mebe in Italy, one of the best trip reports I have ever read; informative, emotional, evocative:

The Tennessee Trio of Terror was pretty funny.

I'll second MaiTai Tom's. Can't till his next one.

Any dining report by JulieVikmanis, anything by escrunchy (I'm their loyal foodie fan)

plus amsdon's wonderful Segovia-Pedraza report, the Camino de Santiago walk report by marigross, also yk's incredibly detailed recent report on her February Spain trip (now that's one helpful report if I ever read one!), the recent ode to Madrid by Anne Marie....
oops and comfyshoes, as well.
I read and remember all the great Spain reports, since Spain travel is my obsession!

Travelgirl2 and her lengthy trip to Asia and Europe with her family.

Anything written by ThinGorgus. Priceless!

Does anyone remember the really good trip report by the woman who took her parents to Europe -- I seem to remember Italy -- and suddenly just stopped writing and, I think, was never heard from again?

crefloors Apr 29th, 2008 05:39 PM

Yea, I remember that. Can't think of her name now and I don't think she's ever been back to the board. I'm thinking something really awful must have happened.

I'm also a fan of noe847's TR. I like her description of museums and galleries, as well as restaurants. Her TRs are very easy to read and nicely formatted.

One of my all time favorites was Barbara's trip report about the Divas in Italy...it was just too funny!

And I'm put my vote in for maitaitom too!

Elvira's trip reports with The Loons. Sheer poetry!!!

I've read many great reports. AnselmAdorne's are certainly among those.

I've read some great trip reports here. Right now I'm waiting for the next installment by the Canadian teacher who took two dozen kids to France and Spain.

I third the MaiTaiTom - his report, chalked full of pictures and hilarity was one of my all time favorites.

Second on ThinGorgeous and Barbara and the divas - sill hoping for a movie to come out on Barbara's. Funny, I was just thinking of these last two on my way to work this morning. There are snippets of both that crack me up, even now.

All of these folks have writing styles that, while varied, I just love reading.

I really enjoyed Travelgirl's adventure of a lifetime. What a trip. I'm just so glad that people take the time to write these reports. The stories take me away and the places they talk about spark my interest for travel in different directions.

Thank you to all the people who contribute.

Thin and Elvira.

Wow, yk, thanks for the shout out!! Writing trip reports made me realize just how hard/time consuming it is. I learn from most, and like a huge variety of reports (funny, short, long, etc.)

I'll check my bookmarks for some of my favorites and post them with their links.
