I commend all who write trip reports. My favorites are from people who don't take themselves too seriously and can laugh at their misadventures.

That said, I hope my trip report on our upcoming journey will not be titled: "We Accidentally Sunk The Ferry from Rovinj to Venice!"

MaitaiTom- I agree. Now wasn't it you who put gas in a diesel car? That was some of the funniest writing I have read on here, especially how you seemed to find humor in it yourself.

Okay, you have convinced me that I should write a trip report about my latest adventures. This is what happens when you travel solo, oo-la la!!

I really enjoy reading trip reports of all kinds.

After sitting down and writing a report about our trip earlier this month, I gained even more of an appreciation for all the report writers.

It's hard! And embarrassing!

But worth it.

Hmm.... I haven't been reading trip reports lately but many come to mind. I like the ones on Spain because I have been there many times and they are a fun read (amsdon, annemarie, etc come to mind). I have also liked several of hausfrau's reports because they capture the essence of it all rather well. Lastly, ThinorJus's writing is perhaps the funniest I have seen on this board.

My all time favorite is Rudy's &quot;My River Cruise in Russia&quot;.

We were planning to go to Ireland that year, but I printed Rudy's report and showed it to my husband. I was surprised he even read it. But, he did, then said, &quot;Can we do that instead?&quot;

We booked the same trip and were thrilled. To this day, I am grateful we took that trip when we did, and to Rudy for taking the time to post.

My favorite was Magellan 5's Solo Trip Report to Prague, Subtitled &quot;How I Froze My Ass Off in the Czech Republic&quot;. It was funny, irreverent, and informative.
