You helped me with Balsamic Vinegars,Now how about Italian Liquors, Please?

I read about Limoncello a few years ago,and would love to try it before I get to Italy.
I have read on this site about other wonderful sounding apertifs.
As I live in a rural part of Vermont, I know for a fact there are no places to find these products.
Any websites?
I went to www.winebow, but was unable to get a list of the specialty liquors.
Any help would be very much appreciated!!
Nancy

Nancy, you may want to search for Limoncino. It is also a Lemon flavored liquor. I bought a bottle in the Cinque Terre and everyone I serve it to loves it. I have found it served at a few Italian restaurants here in the states so it may be easier to find than Limoncello.

Good evening, Nancy
Have purchased Limoncello at Italian
Grocery stores that sell wine in the
Chicago area. However do not know of
a wine merchant on web tht you might
purchase it from. However there is
an Italian Grocery in New York that
might be a source. the name is
BALDUCCI, might search for further
information, Richard of La Grange
Park, Il.
The bottle we have is a 375 ml of
Gioia Luisa (tm)Lemoncello, imported
by Tyfield Importers.Inc. Troy. MI 48083.
rjv

Nancy,
You can make your own; this recipe works very well.

http://gunther.simplenet.com/liqueurs/limoncel.htm

Hand-picked lemons right off the tree really make a difference (I know, not terribly abundant in VT) and use a quality vodka - 80 proof OK if you can't find 100 proof.

It makes great holiday and birthday presents when in a nice bottle. Just plan ahead because it takes about 3 months from start to finish. Of course, set some aside for yourself! (*It's so tasty too - tastes just like candy*)

Deena, Richard, and Paul,
Thank you all for your input.
Deena,
What is the difference between Limoncello and Limoncino?
Richard,
Not sure I have ever seen any alcohol in the Balducci catalog, but worth a shot.(hopefully of some Limoncello-sorry about this pun!)
Paul,
Great idea.Will try the site.
We might not have lemon trees here, but no shortage of vodka, 80 or 100 proof.
Again, mille grazia

My husband's cousin from Naples gave me two family recipes, which I have posted at my travel page: http://sites.netscape.net/monicapileggi/travel. I have one batch ready to finish this week. It's a great drink, especially in the hot summer! Enjoy.

Nancy, I'm pretty sure Limoncello and Limoncino are the same thing. I think it may be a regional name thing. I bought my Limoncino in the Cinque Terre.
