Which City (Europe) to SKIP!
Just can't do everything we wanted to this time.......gotta cut out one city, which one would YOU choose if you had to? We are interested in art, museums, friendly people and easy walks. I know this is very subjective, but just your general opinion please!
BERLIN.........PRAGUE........KRAKOW.........BUDAPE ST...VIENNA......SALZBURG.......MUNICH

I personally would skip Munich since you'll already have one million+ -population German city under your belt. Aside from Vienna (which I like well enough but can't see making special plans to return to in the immediate future) the others are smaller, more manageable, and possess quite a lot of uniqueness. Just my opion, natch.

Any chance you split this itinerary up into a few trips? My geography is a little sketchy, but Munich/Salsburg/Vienna seems like one possibility (or Budapest, Bratislavia for a day, Vienna), and Berlin/Prague with a couple of days in between in Dresden could be another choice. Although I have not yet been to any of those places you have mentioned, basedon my research I personally would love to spend a few days in each of the cities you have mentioned, and a day trip or two as well, so I don't think I would want to tackle 6 in one trip.

if you are interested in cold war history don't miss berlin, if you are more fascinated with nazi era history, Munich is a must see. munich is more walkable than berlin but berlin's art scene is stronger. berlin is probably friendlier but the word "friendly" doen't come to mind for either.
if you want to keep both german cities, i would choose between salzburg and vienna. i've been to both but don't have a strong opinion.
keep prague, krakaw, budapest.

How long's the trip??? Depending on how much time you have, unless it is 5+ weeks, I would cut out several cities. If you can't decide by interest, how about by which ones are the furthest distances away from the others?

Not that I've ever been there, but Krakow just doesn't rank alongside the other ones you've listed.
It's a little like comparing Paul Smith's charming, yet lacking (in quality, and design - it's so over now) collections to Hedi Slimane's razor sharp creations for Dior..it doesn't compare!

Haven't been to Crakow, Salzburg, Budapest, Munich, but I think that after taking a look at Unesco's World Heritage list, I need to think about visiting Crakow. Poland sounds interseting, and I don't know anything about it.
My Michelin Europe guide also devotes a lot of pages to Crakow (more than Vienna, I'm pretty sure). But it also gave a lot of space to Prague, of which I wasn't so fond.
Of the three I've visited, I'd rank them as Berlin > Vienna > Prague.
You'll have to tell us how long the trip is for, as people have asked.

I would say to skip Munchen. It really is not a world-class city.
The people of Vienna, in my opinion, are not very friendly. I wouldn't say they are rude, but aloof and very formal. However, the Kunsthistoriches Museum has some fabulous paintings by Velasquez and Reubens.
I have never met anyone who didn't LOVE Krakow, including my husband's parents. Krakow is also one of my Aunt Judith's favourites.
You are nuts if you skip Prague. And Salzburg is so beautiful you could faint.
I have never been to Berlin or Budapest.

Okay it's down to Vienna, Salzburg Budapest and MUNICH, which one to SKIP! Perhaps we will see them all, just one night in Salzburg since it is between Vienna and Munich. However now we are adding Cologne/Bonn since it is cheapest to fly home from Frankfurt.
Okay, I've totally confused you all and I am completely nuts ! I know!

I recommend a day in Cologne, if you can swing it. I really enjoyed my time there - had a very full day with lots of museums and churches, but well worth it.
Again, how long is your total itinerary?
