Where to stay in Cinque Terre

We are planning a trip to Cinque Terre in September and are looking for a nice place to stay. Can anyone help?

Define nice--is that 50E or 300E per nite?

I think of the main charm and beauty of the CT being that it is small villages, rather remote, and not filled with people and activity. Yet, it is no secret that Monterossa, the largest of the five villages has the "nicest" or certainly the most choice of "luxury" accomodations. The only problem is that in my opinion Monterossa is the least charming of the towns since it is indeed the tourist "center" for the whole area.
Most of the other towns are pretty limited to small B&B's or tiny pension type places. How rustic or how luxurious do you wish to be?

Incidentally we loved our stay at the tiny Picolo Marina in Manarola -- overlooking the cliffs of the tiny "harbor" and serving wonderful food on an outdoor terrace.

I would guess I'm looking at around 200 euro a night? Is that doable in order to get something nice?

I guess my question is what are you looking for? Rustic and quaint charm, or a more generic US hotel type place?
My personal feeling is that "nice" means rustic charm, but that certainly isn't everyone else's idea.

I think that generally speaking we like rustic and charming that gives us the flavor of the area. However, that being said, I do require creature comfort such as modern baths, etc.

200 euros a night is more than enough for a hotel room in the Cinque Terre. If you want luxurious accommodations, then the Villa Steno is an option. However, you can stay for as little as 67 euros a night at some places, 100 euros a night with breakfast included at others. Try looking into Monterosso first (the largest and northernmost of the 5 towns) as it has the most accommodation options, then Manarola, Riomaggiore, Vernazza. This link http://www.cinqueterre.it/en/index.asp is an useful guide for finding out about hotels, restaurants, weather, things to do, etc. Buon viaggio!
