Trip reports - Norway: chasing the northern lights
Hi all,
we have spent magnificent 10 days on the Lofoten Islands last winter to enjoy the winter landscape and to see and photograph the northern lights once again.
I have posted a travelogue on my (non-commercial) website with lots of photos.

Our first trip to the North was in 2012 when we were able to experience the northern lights the first time. Be careful, they are addictive!!
Here is the link to our trip report 2012:

I hope you enjoy reading and viewing the pictures.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Sandra

The first trip in 2012 was with a group from Switzerland; see www.fotoreisen.ch
I would not do it again with a group and prefer it individually like we did it this year. So we paid about 600 Euros for the flight, about 160 Euros/night for accommodation plus the rent car. Norway is no budget country (the organised tour was more expensive...) but it is worth the experience.
We spent most of the night outside when the weather was good for northern lights; daylight is not really important.
We will go back next year Feb. Again individually, again very much looking forward to the auroras!

Hi Sandra,
Read and viewed your wonderful adventures in Lofoten. You are incredibly lucky and get to see the NL. You rent a car your whole trip and driving the snowy roads, I'm from Malaysia and looking forward to my trip to Norway this coming March. Tho' your trip was few years ago, can I checked with you...was it a difficult drive all the way, for me is truly one new experience and still contemplating to rent a car.
Cheers
