What would YOU bring home from Spain?
I remember there was a thread on this, and now I can't find it. It's always interesting to see what people like to buy as gifts, or what they like to bring home for themselves.

Yes, that's the one! Thanks for bringing it up...I somehow didn't put in the correct string of words, or still don't know how to bring up old threads. Thanks! Okay, no need for this thread. Can I delete it?

Serrano is the most common of Spanish hams. Jamón Ibérico, specifically jamón ibérico de bellota, is the best, but smuggling it in has gotten difficult through certain points of entry, what with the agricultural inspections. What every happened to them looking for terrorists?

Robert - we got tagged on agricultural when we only had a case of wine and 24 cartons of gauloises in december. The spain flight was tagged, we had no meat and went right through xray with no problem.

Definitely saffron and pimenton in those beautiful metal boxes... I love the pimenton picante on eggs.
I bought Absinthe in Spain a few years ago and it isn't so easy to drink (for me at least) but I made a killer ice cream with it a couple of times. I always bring home a few packages of Jamon Jamon Ruffles potato chips because I love love them.

When you get back home and get a craving for yummy Spanish treats and/or giftwares, check out this website:
http://www.tienda.com/
You can even order a bone-in Jamon Iberico for "only" $1,395.00. And, hey, it's free shipping!
My daughter spent a semester in Spain and for Christmas I ordered some polvorones for her. They were really yummy! I also ordered Cola Cao (which you can also purchase on Amazon). She was thrilled.
