What if there are no more online ferry tickets online?

I planned to travel from Astypalea to Kos on 4 August and when I checked this morning the ferry schedule, there was one at 4.25 AM. Later this evening there were nomore tickets available. I haave had not a card to pay online at my disposal at the time.

Do somebody know if is possible to find tickets in offices in Astypalaia or Piraeus even if online they are no more available?

thanks for any help.

Where did you go online to try to buy? You can try the ferry company's own booking function or you can try www.danae.gr

If you get the same results it means that ferry is fully booked for the class of ticket you want. You may have to pay more for a different class of ticket.

Your problem is that the ferry from Astypalea to Kos (Blue Star Diagoras) runs on Saturdays, not on Thursdays. I checked three different ferry websites, including Blue Star itself, and they all show the same. I doubt very much that all the seats on that leg would be sold out, even in August, as Diagoras drops off passengers at Naxos and Santorini before going on to Astypalea.

Thanks for trying to help me

There are not any kind of tickets available online for that date (as I said, earlier this morning there were but I didn't reserve). It seems that in last hours all have been sold, for all the classes.

It would help if someone met this situation and found if on the spot there really are no more possibility to buy a ticket or yes.

That answer was for brotherlove2004.

Heimdall, as I said, eralier this morning there still were tickets for that day. Also there are tickets for the next Saturdays and for most of the days, but it seems that the tickets between July 30 and August 6 have been sold.

I hope you're right and that there are not so many from Astypalea to Kos.

There are no online tickets for that date because the ferry doesn't sail until the 6th. ;-)

I suppose it's possible that all the seats are sold, but only if as many people board the ferry at Naxos and Santorini as get off. Since Naxos and Santorini are popular destinations, I didn't think that would be the case. Good luck on getting a ticket!

I just tried a dummy booking on the Blue Star website, and got all the way to the step where you enter the credit card details. For obvious reasons I didn't proceed further. Give it a try.

please keep in mind, that no matter how many different on line systems you check, in reality you are using one and the same system, that of ForthCRS.
Technically speaking all travel agencies selling tickets online are using this system, with a different lay out.....
This means that checking more than one systems, makes no sense, you get the same results eveywhere.
I personally had the situation, when i could find tickets on the spot, because a local agency had bought them in advance, knowing it was high season and they would sell them anyway... The fact that it happened once ( on Ag Konstantinos- Skiathos Lines) doesnt mean anything. Try to contact an agency in Astypalea and ask them directly.

Hi andreist,

I have a Plan B for you: if you still want to travel on 4 August, go on Nissos Kalymnos from Astypalea to Kalymnos, then take another ferry from Kalymnos to Kos. Danae.gr shows booking unnecessary for that ferry. There are loads of ferries from Kalymnos to Kos.
