What a good title...Bilbao, Cinderella City
A great article on the extraordinary transformation that we, bilbainos, have always feel extremely proud of, even when it was not as it´s now.

Even an article dedicated to art and design overlooks Bibao's handsome, and much more venerable, museum of beaux-arts, http://www.museobilbao.com/in/ It's well worth at least a couple of hours. I also enjoyed walking tours sponsored by the city's tourism authority, where it is easy to see the grim ghost of the tyrant Franco still hovering over the city. http://www2.bilbao.net/bilbaoturismo...r/bilbaowt.htm
One bonus from flying into Bilbao is that the road from the soaring airport terminal runs through a hill and emerges on a bridge flying through the Guggenheim's tiara. What a dramatic introduction!

Sums it up in an excellent way. I especially recognized the urge to go to Bilbao every now and then for a change of air when the prettiness of San Sebastián just becomes too much. Two fabulous and extremely different sister cities.

Thanks for the article. I am so looking forward to my trip to San Sebastion , Bilbao and Madrid next month.
The more that I read about this area the more convinced I am that this will be a fabulous start to my annual European vacation.
