Website for La Cisterna?

La Cisterna in San Gimignano seems very popular. I can't seem to find a web-site for it. Can anyone else?

Linda, Go to www.sangimignano.com and see all the the hotels in the area. La Cisterna is smack dab in the middle, and that means potential noise until even midnite in the main square. Also look at Antico Pozzo in town or Hotel Pescille out of town 3 miles. Be sure to see "Tea with Mussolini".

Thanks Bob. And you saved me from asking my next question. Any thoughts about choosing between Antico Pozzo and Leon Bianco?

We have stayed at La Cisterna three times and have recommended it to others who have also loved it. It is not noisy at all. Few people stay in San G. ,and it is very quiet after 8 pm. Ask for a room with a balcony and a view. I will say that this is our favorite hotel in Italy- spectacular view of the hills and also a very good restaurant at the hotel. Part of Tea With M. took place in La Cisterna.

I stayed at La Cisterna last year in a room overlooking the square. No problem at all with noise. BUT... the best rooms in the hotel are the ones on the other side with panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside. I requested a view room and was given one -- the problem was, they considered the square a "view". So if and when you reserve, specify a view of the countryside.

Stayed at La Cisterna is Sep 99. Ask for room with a view of the valley. Beautiful view and quiet at night. Some day noise as other tourists will be walking the small street under your window to take in the view.
