Villas in Spain
Hi everyone. We are starting to plan our honeymoon in Spain and are trying to find a villa or a house to rent for a week. We are going to spend 2-3 days in Barcelona and then we want to rent a villa for a week near Tarragona. We were also considering renting a villa near some of the small villages in the costa brave area. We have just started looking and are a little overwhelmed. We want to make sure we find a location that is not too commercial but also not too rustic. If anyone has any advice or ideas about the area or a reputable place to rent we would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

A lot will depend on when you are planning your stay. A number of "villas" require a two-week to four-week minimum stay during the high season. Also, most villas are larger properties, accommodating 6 to 20 people, but there are a few smaller ones for couples.
I suggest you deal with a professional. Someone who can point you in the right direction.

We are planning for the end of October 22th - November 2nd. This should put us out of the "vacation" season. From the information we have read, it appears that some of the villas will rent for 1 week during this time of the year.
If you or anyone else could suggest an agency to deal with directly we would appreciate it.
Thank you for your response.

We are looking primarily in the Costa Brava area. We have received input from a few people that have traveled there that there are some great villages to visit. We were also thinking somewhere a little more southern near Tarragona. So ideally somewhere on the coast that is not too far from Barcelona, as we will be flying in and out of that city. We want somewhere that we can relax and enjoy but also that is close to villages or towns where we can do short day trips and go out for dinner etc.

whatever house you decide to rent anywhere, for those dates make SURE it (central heat)
has "calefacción central". otherwise you COULD be quite chilled at night and in the morning.
