Van Rental---Help!

I need a minimum 8 seater rental for one week rental. I can't seem to locate one. Does anyone have suggestions? I would need to p/u and return in either Manchester or Liverpool.

Lots of companies rent large vehicles. Start w/ autoeurope.com. But how many will you have? A nine passenger van won't have enough space for 8 people plus all their luggage.

And a 12 passenger van is HUGE. Do you have enough drivers to use two cars instead? Two mediums sized cars will cost less than a big van.

Kemwell has a 7-seater available in Manchester.
http://www.kemwel.com/index.cfm?
Maybe you could call Kemwell and see if it would accommodate an 8th person.

There will be 8 people but luggage isn't an issue really; we won't have our big travle luggage with us, at most just enough stuff for an overnight stay. We were hoping to all be in one vehicle because 7 of us are visiting from the US and want the commentary as we tour around,of my step-father, who is a native.

The luggage makes a BIG difference. For just driving around a 9 passenger van will probably be fine. But do rotate folks around - those back seats get old after a while.

Sorry about the autoeurope suggestion - they might arrange for larger vehicles but it would probably require a phone call since that isn't an option on their website. A quick google for "car hire UK 9 passenger van" brought up lots of links.

And remember 'van' in the U.K. means a commercial vehicle, something a builder or decorator would use to carry themselves and their tools around in.
It could be that you didn't locate one in Manchester or Liverpool as you were looking for vans not MPV's or cars. Janisj had more success by using words like 'car hire' and 'passenger' in the search.
