two days in Copenhagen-help with location to stay, please.
I have two days to squeeze in Copenhagen, arrive from Berlin one day, next day on my own, the following I'm meeting a friend just for the afternoon. I realize I'm not going to see a lot, but would like to locate myself in a central spot...decided I'd splurge if the cost was high, since it will only be three nights total. I'm 70, used to traveling, but not alone. In other cities (Amsterdam, Barcelona, etc.) I've been able to pinpoint a good spot to stay, and have done AirBnB with friends, but Copenhagen has me stumped as to where to find a hotel. Any advice is much appreciated. I actually thought I'd take one of the hop-on, hop-off buses the full day I'm there, so am looking to be close to one of those stops as well.
Thanks in Advance!

We stayed last August at The Hotel Alexandra on HC Andersens Blvd. Around the corner is The Ascot. Though the street is busy, the hotel is very quiet and charming. Close enough to walk to the train station, if you are leaving by train.
Close enough to walk to the older section and a bit further to the Nyhavn waterfront. Safe area to walk around, though I just read about an incident a few blocks away that happened June 3rd.

I would say in the area between Raadhusplads (Town Hall Square) and Kongens Nytorv (near Nyhavn). I've lived in Kbh, summers, since the 70s and I think that for your needs that might be the best area unless you want to stay at the airport and commute into the city.
On this upcoming trip I will stay at the Clarion Hotel (formerly Hilton) at the airport (Kastrup) and commute into the city as both the metro and the train system are right there at the airport which is super easy and convenient and it only takes about 18 minutes to get into either the heart of the city, by train, or one of the metro stops is right at the Kongens Nytorv area as it stops right undernearth the Magazin Department store. Plus, by staying out at the airport, it will be super easy for arrivals and departures as the hotel is connected. A friend of mine, who also goes to Kbh regularly, has done the same. I'll just buy one of those transportation passes.
Kbh isn't that big as for the inner city. It's quite walkable and you can get a lot done in the amount of time that you have. Have fun!

Something that we really enjoyed when staying at the Choice Hotels chain (Clarion included) in the Scandanavian countries was the availability of meals two times during the day. Breakfast is included, as is a late afternoon snack. There was so much food in the afternoon that we made it our late meal and then just had a light snack before bedtime. With the higher food costs in these countries we found this really kept us on budget.

We stayed in Hotel Bethel right on Nyhavn. It is a modestly priced hotel that is a bit basic, but we found it to be charming. The staff was very helpful. It is in a busy area, but our room was quiet. The area has lots of interesting or fun things within walking distance. When we have a short visit in a city, we like to be able to easily step out of our hotel to see things and enjoy the city. To us the immediate environment is important, not just the major sights we plan to visit.

I stayed in the Wake Up Copenhagen Borgergade, convenient to Nyhavn but not right there.

Small and nothing fancy, but all you need.
