Two bedroom apt. in Barcelona?
We are two couples spending 3-4 days in Barcelona this spring. We're thinking it might be cheaper to rent a two bedroom apt. rather than two separate hotel rooms. Has anyone stayed at such a place and can I get some recommendations?

I booked a hotel near Placa Catalunya which also has apartments for rent. It will be my first trip to Europe so I'll find out how good they are when I get there. I found this hotel on a couple of guidebooks and from what I see on the website it fits my needs. I believe you can get an apartment with or without a kitchen.
www.intercom.es/grau/

Thanks Geo...I did a search for the hotel on the website you gave - Hosteria Grau...only thing I could find was that it's a "bare bones" place. I'm hoping to get a little nicer 2 bedroom place - doesn't need a kitchen and can actually be a 2-bedroom suite if that would be cheaper for two couples. Anyone else? Would really appreciate some suggestions. Thanks.

I stayed at the Hostel Grau (remember, Hostel is really a pension) January 2000-it wasn't bad, very clean, my room had a private bath/shower (although no telephone/television), great location, most of the desk staff good. You might want to ask how the suites are equipped, and it might fit your requirements.

Try the Citadines apartments, www.citadines.com. It's a very nice hotel/apartment combo. It is in a great location right on the Las Ramblas.

The Citadines on La Rambla is indeed a great choice! They have two bedroom suites with a full kitchen and are right across from the great city market... excellent location and good pricing! We have stayed there in March 2000 and March 2001... booked online... no problems.

Enjoy Barcelona... one of our favorite cities gt

Barry

P.S. Can't stay there this March because we will be in Austria, Hungary and the Czech Republic!!!
