Tuscany Italy
I would like to spend some time in Tuscany staying in one place and taking tours while I am there. This is the first time I am looking into this trip. Any help on where to stay and tour ideas would be appreciated. Thank you, Rose

Do you want to stay in a small town in the countryside or bigger city (Florence? Siena?)? There won't be as many tour options in small towns, but there still will be a bit of choice (vineyards, other small towns).

Tuscany is a big area so I would first figure out what places you want to visit on a map and then determine a central place based on that. Most visitors to Tuscany envision the area of Val d'Orcia. We just stayed in Lucca because we wanted to visit Pisa and Florence, but it would have been too far to drive to Southern Tuscany for a day trip...

How long will you stay, what type of tours do you want, and will you have a car? If no car then you need to be in a large town or city such as Florence or Siena so you can access public transportation to other places and have something of interest to do when you do not leave your base. If you have a car you can stay in the countryside or smaller town that is not easily accessed by public transport.
