Tuscany

Does anyone haave any suggestions for Villas for four in the Tuscany area of Italy? We will be spending about 2 weeks there next fall & would like a nice place that we could explore from in a central area. We have all been to Italy several times but never staayed in a Villa or apartment or whatever you want to call it. We arent traveling on a shoe string, however we don't want to spend a fortune.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sarah

wcblan [email protected]

Sarah, Go to slowtrav.com as mentioned above first. Then, www.tuscany.net to look at many rental options. Your criteria should be LOCATION, PRICE,AND LOCATION. I would look at self-catering apts. for only 4 people. Many are in very nice rural settings, but you will not be isolated by yourself.

Sarah:

Look into Casa Satti in Montecarlo. Montecarlo is a small Tuscan hilltown very close to Lucca, Siena, Pisa and Florence. We had an incredible stay at Casa Satti this summer. The information on them is:

Casa Satti
Via Roma 31,55015
Montecarlo–Lucca, Italy
011-39-0583-22347
Fax: 011-39-0583-22007
Contact: Bianca Satti Tori
[email protected] or [email protected]
<a href=...asatti.com

Sarah-
I just reserved a villa near Lucca from rentvillas.com. Very reasonable rates and a lot of choices. Also received beautiful big catalogs from the parker company and from tuscanynow.com., although they were a bit more expensive. Good luck! IT's a lot of fun trying to decide from among the hundreds of choices. Decide what you want to see first, then decide where would be a good homebase. We're planning side trips to the Cinque Terre as well as Siena, Florence and Chianti wineries, so Lucca was the best choice for us.

We've booked villas through VRBO.com - properties are listed directly by owner and you contact them directly. Prices seem to be more reasonable without middleman. Check out #5824.

Judi
