Travel to Europe (Spain) over Christmas?

Hello,
My husband and I are thinking of traveling to Spain over Christmas week (from 12/26-1/3), particularly San Sebastian and Barcelona.

We're hoping to get some feedback as to whether or not things (restaurants, sites, museums, etc.) will be open during that time?

If not, are there other not-freezing destinations that would be better choices that week?
Thanks in advance.

It will be a bit warmer in Barcelona over the holidays, but San Sebastian-Donostia is still great during the Christmas season.

Thanks. We actually don't mind the temperature as much as making sure that things will be open during the holidays.

We've heard rumors that lots of restaurants, bars, tourist sites, etc. will be closed for the X-Mas holiday week.... Is this true!?

Thanks!

I spent Christmas week in Barcelona a few years back, Dec. 21-25. Most places were open. On Dec. 25 I headed to Madrid and had no problem from Dec 26-27 visiting sites and finding restaurants, I imagine it would have been the same in Barcelona. On NYE, we did need reservations for a restaurant though. We were in Costa del Sol, Torremolinos, very little open during the holidays.

Hi. Last year, my husband and I spent 12/27 - 12/31 in Barcelona and 1/1 - 1/4 in Madrid. The weather in Barcelona was lovely...50's and sunshine during the day, 40's at night. We didn't experience any closures, except for restaurants on NYE. We made advance reservations for that night.

Madrid weather was a bit cooler and rainy. We didn't experience any closures at all.

Go! You'll have a great time!
