traveler32,
What time does your flight from Barajas depart and what day of the week?
The best/quickest option is to take the high speed AVANT train from Toledo (9&euro to Madrid's Atocha station, then take a taxi to the airport (about 27€ to Terminal 1 or 32€ to Terminal 4, depending on traffic).
On weekdays (that aren't holidays), the first AVANT leaves Toledo at 6:50 am, arriving at Atocha at 7:20.

Taking a taxi from Toledo to Madrid airport should be around 90€.
You could explore this possibility once in Toledo.
The fast train is very efficient and then the combination of taxi from Atocha to the airport a good solution but it can be complicated and tiring with lugage.
The door to door taxi from Toledo to the airport IMO makes sense.

If you are a bit relaxed about public transportation, you can also use Cercanias (suburban trains) for two stops from Atocha to Nuevos Ministerios, and there change to Metro 8 to the airport.
Cercanias should be €1.15 plus another €1 for the Metro.
Or you travel by Metro (change twice) all the way from Atocha to the airport for €1.
Both option will require some walking between trains, climbing stairs, etc., though -- so it is not a very convenient solution!

Hallcity - Toledo is 75km (or 46 miles) from Madrid. I doubt a regular taxi would be willing to take you that far without some kind of prearrangement!!! And I won't even begin to speculate how much that'll cost!

You would need to negotiate, in Spanish, with the taxi driver at the airport about a transport to Toledo.
Or you could try to pre-arrange Barajas-Toledo transport with a transfer co. like Aerocity.
www.aerocity.com
Only certain Madrid taxi co. take credit cards.
I was in need of one once (due to poor planning + emergency on my part), and my hotel desk staff called a specific taxi co. for me that does take credit cards, but it's not at all the norm.
