Best? fastest, cheapest, most convenient, etc.
Best would be a taxi from the airport but would cost a ton - or take the RER from the airport to Chatelet-les-Halles and then the Marais is just a tad east of it - depending on where in the Marais you are staying could be a short enough walk.

TAke a taxi it is worth the 45 -50 euros or hire a shuttle Paris Inter is. good. Chatelet is a horror with luggage and the walk can be far to transfer. Or take the RER to St Michel and grab a taxi outside the station

Best is taxi--but expensive. I would use the RER unless budget isn't an issue for you. I wouldn't say luggage makes the train and station a "horror." More a few minutes of inconvenience. For 40 euros, I can stand a few minutes of inconvenience.
Of course, one persn's inconvenience could conceivably be another's horror depending on how much luggage you take when you travel and your physical fitness level. I'm in average shape for a 66 year old guy, and I travel with a fully stuffed carry-on bag and a briefcase.

There's the Roissybus: http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/e...-roissybus.htm. It goes to the L'opera area. You could then take a taxi the short distance to your hotel or rental.
Or search through this forum's old (but not too old) posts for shuttle recommendations. A shuttle should go directly to your address in Paris. (Doesn't that sound nice!)
