Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find maps of train routes in Italy. I've tried the trenitalia website but can't find what I'm looking for. I've worked out that I need to get a train from the airport to Pisa Centrale and then from there another train to Castigliocello, but I'd like to know what line that will be on and the stops along the way so I make sure I get on the right train and also have some idea of when my stop is coming up.
After a disasterous train trip in Ireland once I have a need to plan such things to the nth degree
Thanks
Janet

Find the German train site, which has an excellant english mode. Used to be they had wonderful options of showing stick-figures of your routes with intermediate stops, etc. Also you could tell it to schedule a stopover of any number of minutes for sightseeing. I have a link for this, but that one seems to have dumbed down or hidden these modes, so try a google and tell us. I hear Pisa airport is literally walking distance to downtown, so may want to wheel your suitcase if just having missed a train. You can "walk" around anywhere and view train station/routes at http://www.it.map24.com/
Go here FIRST:
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en
After you input Pias Centrale as the departure point and Castigliocello as the end point, change the date and the time then click on search connnection at the bottom
The site may also ask you to input an age for the traveler..input any number
When you get the train listings you'll see each train is NUMBERED...click on that number and you'll get the full itinerary....you can also clock on the "show intermediate stops" button.
Hope this helps

On the Trenitalia website list your stations and then click on the info number on the left hand side then when the next screen appears it will have the train number. Click on the train number and the stops will appear. I think that is Castilglioncello isn't it?
