Hotel in Prague Old Town

I would like recommendations for a hotel in Old Town Prague for a December visit.
Budget is about $150 USD tops per night. I have several days after my tour ends and want to stay in Old Town area. The tour hotel is Park Inn which I think may be a bit away from Old Town. I will be traveling solo.
Thanks.
Jane

This hotel is convenient at one end of the Charles Bridge.

If you considered this hotel, ask for a room looking out at the bridge.

We stayed at the Hotel Paris last Feb. Got a great rate, about $125/night. Gorgeous hotel.

We have also stayed at that hotel when it was called the Hotel Pariz. It is a lovely hotel.

We stayed at the hotel suggested by Iris and were happy with it and our view of the Charles Bridge. The breakfast was included and very good.

I stayed at the K & K Central Hotel. It was within walking distance of the Old Town and I believe it will meet your budget at that time of year. They serve an excellent buffet breakfast with champagne. There is an antique elevator which adds to the charm but the hotel is updated and modernized.

Iris..I think you got that recommendation from me a few years ago. It was a favorite of ours in Prague...to me, a great Charles Bridge location..what a bridge view! See my pics below..the first few are The Three Ostriches (U Tri Pstrosu). This way you are basically between old and new (Lesser) towns...nice walk to either. It's an uphill walk to the castle.

Not sure about where the rates are now.

Enjoy Prague!

Listen tower--you got that recommendation from me. lol

But it is a great location, equidistant between the new and old town.

Check these for which one(s) fit your budget: http://www.avehotels.cz/.

Some are in Old Town (ignore all without "Prague 1" addresses). Some are thisclose to it. We stayed at The Bishop's House, which is 60 meters from the Charles Bridge and near U Tri Pstrosu (mentioned above).

The K&K Central is in New Town, not Old Town. K&K is a well-run Austrian chain.

Iris - Yez, it is also called Hotel Pariz. We could never afford a hotel like this one in any other city. Probably would be $400 a night. It's Art Nouveau personified.

From hotels in the Old Town, we usually recommend these hotels to our clients:
- Hotel u Zeleneho Hroznu: www.uzelenehohroznu.cz
- Jewel Design Hotel: www.hoteljewelprague.com
- Sax Vintage Design Hotel: www.hotelsax.cz
- Fusion Prague: http://fusionhotels.com (this one is cheaper)

BigRuss, I know it is confusing but the K & K Central is in the Old Town but the K & K Fenix is in City Centre.

Bollocks. Was thinking about the Fenix. Oops. Yeah, don't stay at the Fenix - dicey area near the train station.

Well-run Austrian chain still applies.

Dianne; I think I saw the Hotel Paris for well less than $150 per night in December on the web site I gave www.trivago.com

[Dec. 15-18th]

The hotel tower and I suggested was less than $75 a night.

Bishops House was also very reasonable.

Thanks to all. Looks like I won't have any problem moving to the Old Town for my last 2 nights in Prague.
