That's an idea, Marilyn! But, I'm afraid if all the addicted Fodorites came to the island at once, we would surely sink! :)

Marilyn Jul 23rd, 2004 11:07 AM

LOL Statia!

RebeccaM Jul 23rd, 2004 11:17 AM

What is the Sorrento webcam? (I'm not sure I want to know - sounds addicting.) Must have missed it when I took my "vacation" from here.

panucci Jul 23rd, 2004 11:44 AM

Statia - We could have 6, 1 week sessions so we would stay afloat. Each week could be led by some of the people we all now know and love i.e. bobthenavigator, ira, rex etc...wait I think I am planning a vacation not rehab. How about a fodors reunion instead. Bad habits die hard. Obviously I am not ready to give this up.

Statia Jul 23rd, 2004 12:13 PM

That's another good idea, Pannuci. I have to admit I have been thinking of the "steps" we could include.

Step 1 - Decide on your destination.

Step 2 - Start research on Fodors.

Step 3 - Make itineary.

Step 4 - Make air, hotel, and musueum reservations.

Step 5 - ....

Oh wait, I think I'm doing this wrong. Maybe we need a twelve step program for "becoming addicted." :) After all, it's so much fun, huh?

Marilyn Jul 23rd, 2004 12:17 PM

Oh Statia, you are amusing me this afternoon! I believe the first step is usually admitting you are an addict. We don't seem to have any trouble with that one, do we?

jck4 Jul 23rd, 2004 01:48 PM

okay, you really want it? because I can't be held responsible.

trash pickup is usually around 10pm-10:30pm east coast US time (4-4:30 sorrento), tabacci closes around 11pm in sorrento. LOVE IT.

I'm not sure but I think I have a little problem. Will my habit be passed onto my unborn baby? Should I post that question?? Does Fodors pass through the placenta??

P_M Jul 23rd, 2004 05:51 PM

Scary thought, Wandering Jew!! :-))

haha!!

bellairegirl Jul 23rd, 2004 05:55 PM

Statia -- are you planning any trips to Houston in the near future? We really need to get together some time if you ever do!

As to the subject of this post -- I'm another one of those addicts on this forum. I've already taken my trip this summer, with no others planned, but still checking this site several times a day.

Scarlett Jul 23rd, 2004 05:58 PM

It is contagious!!
My daughter had it first and passed it on to me. Now the Yankee shows signs of having a touch of Fodors addiction~

mrwunrfl Jul 23rd, 2004 06:15 PM

Ok, so I might ok, then. I do come here every day, but I am ALWAYS planning a trip. So maybe I am not addicted. (Never mind that I am not planning a trip to Europe)

panucci Jul 23rd, 2004 06:22 PM

I would think that anyone reading this post must consider that they have a small problem. Responding to it a bigger problem and responding multiple time, as I have....yikes, I don't even want to think about it. Maybe I'll go check out the Sorrento web cam again.
Came anyone say OCD????

luvlondon Jul 23rd, 2004 06:26 PM

I addicted. I love this forum! I can be having a bad day and come to this forum and feel better immediately! There are so many fun fodorites and I luv to read about everyone's adventures. I do like Joe G's response ... "Addicted? I'm not addicted. I can stop any time I want to. I just don't want to stop. JoeG" ...My personal feelings for me is this: I just don't want to be cured of my addiction. Fodorites are the best!

P_M Jul 23rd, 2004 06:36 PM

Unless I am travelling or hospitalized, I visit this forum daily. The reason is that I love to talk travel, whether I am planning a trip or not. (but I almost always AM planning a trip!!) What's sad is that I have very few friends or relatives that share my passion for travel, so I rely on you all for my daily fix of travel talk. I don't know what I'd do without the Fodies!!

panucci Jul 23rd, 2004 07:23 PM

We're here for you PM.

WE DON'T NEED THERAPY, WE ARE THERAPY!

Keep it up I can't wait to see how many responses by the time I get up. #75

Betsy Jul 23rd, 2004 07:27 PM

Boyohboy, I hope if I ever have to go to the hospital that I'm able to get an internet connection! Something new to worry about...

P_M Jul 23rd, 2004 07:33 PM

I wonder if my health insurance would pay for an internet connection if I were in the hospital, in the interest of my mental health....????

socialworker Jul 23rd, 2004 07:51 PM

Again, panucci, I am agreeing w/you, this time about this being therapy. Altho as I said, I found this board by chance when planning a trip earlier this year, I have continued to check it several times a day. I was laid off a longtime job and this has been a great way to continue to feel involved w/people and to in some small way (perhaps) able to be helpful.

panucci Jul 24th, 2004 07:09 AM

socialworker
I have a Masters in counseling, but teach pottery instead. Maybe we could get back to our field by creating a new form of therapy. It could be used to treat depression or prophylacticly to avoid depression. We could even work on after vacation therapy, which would consist of planning the next trip
