Thetrainline.com

Has anyone purchased train tickets through
thetrainline.com? I was in the middle of pricing a ticket and the site went down. They
have very good prices but I didn't get to the
purchase screen so I'm not sure they mail tickets to the USA. They had Apex fares for
17.50 pounds per person round trip so I hope it is legitimate.

Candace, I purchased tickets from trainline.com, for upcoming trip. We're leaving Euston Station, London, going to Holyhead, Wales, then ferry to Dublin, Ireland. This doesn't help - I can't find the phone #!!The office is located in Edingburgh. I talked to the friendliest lady that I have dealt with in making all reservations for this trip. The tickets were much cheaper than the rates that I pulled up on the website. I had even talked to an agent in New York (maybe have been Global tickets). Their price was ridiculous - about 50 GBP more than I finally paid. Anyway, they mailed me the tickets in 8-l0 days. I'll make another search for the phone# and get back to you if I can locate it. Hope this helps. Charlie

Candace:

I purchased tickets for return trips to Bath, but we aren't leaving until June. They don't mail tickets to the USA--you have three choices:

1. to pick them up from the Euston Office (or Station).
2. Fasticket, an automated machine in 3 locations (only one in London) which you get a PIN number e-mailed to you and you can pick it up at any time.
3. Mail to a UK address.

I chose the Fastticket machine and a PIN number was sent to me. I hope it works.....the only problem is getting to the Euston station, if you're not staying near there. There are currently 3 locations to pick them up, but I only recognized one of them as being near central London. I'll bring my charge card and my print-out from the web as evidence that I purchased the tickets (just in case).....

ANYONE KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THE FASTICKET MACHINE IS?

I purchased the return tickets for the end of June they really do have good
prices 16.50 pounds for round trip. Brit
Rail had told me it was around 90 pounds
I chose to pick them up at the window since we will be in London for a few days first.

Charlie: how did you get them to mail them to you? The last page of the website showed me a message that said that they cannot send to the US...I would love to have them mailed since we aren't staying anywhere near Euston...and I don't know if they meant at the tube station or at a train office as the pcikup spot (I was actually trying to figure this out yesterday). So I gather you call the number and get them to send it to you?

Michele

Michele, As I stated in my previous post, I called trainline. The office is in Edingburgh (according to the lady I spoke with). She also wanted me to pick the tickets up @ Euston station. Although we are leaving from Euston, I preferred to have tickets in hand(I guess I'm not a trusting soul) and explained this to the lady. She mailed or had them mailed to me. That's about all I can say!!!! Except, maybe my middle age southern charm got the best of her. Charlie
