Taxi from Heathrow to Russel Square.
I will be in London in two weeks and since I've never been there before considering to take a cab from the airport to the hotel (Russel Square).
Could anybody tell me if there are any specific details: different types of cabs, should I negotiate the price and what it should cost? Thank you.

Igor, They will have a taxi stand and I believe all are the regular cabs. Yes, ask first but it should cost around 28 to 30 pounds. If it were me, I would take the new train service, only 15 minutes from Heathrow to Paddington train station. Much lower cost and lots faster. From Paddington you could grab a cab to your hotel for a resonable cost.

Igor...two other alternatives. The Tube goes directly from Heathrow to Russell Square stop. Cost 3-4 lbs. Also there is a British Airways bus that goes from the airport and stops at several fixed locations(Hotels). One is Royal National Hotel, right by Russell Square. I can dig up the cost if you need to know. Also, that new rail service costs 10 lbs...

Cheers

Cabs will be easy to come by and I have yet to have a bad experience in a London black cab. It is expensive, though. As a result, I also recommend the tube. It goes straight to the Russel Sq tube stop on the Piccadilly line (blue) and a lift/elevator takes you to the street.
