Not exactly a trip to Europe, but The Discovery was successfully launched this afternoon.

Just watched it take off, it is still exciting to me too.

And here it is from 60 miles away , in my front yard!

Jody, were all your neighbors standing out in the street, too? That was a gorgeous sight from my front yard and there was lots of cheering and jumping up and down going on!

Not a European trip, but a European tripping on this shuttle flight!

MAtt, we moved back here in Jan, 1986 and have viewed just about all of the launches from our front yard.
I'll never forget the Challenger lift-off..it expolded right before our eyes about 70 seconds into flight ..no one actually knew what it was until we went inside, but we all knew it didn't look right.

Yes, all the neighbors still get out to watch. It is such fun to see the little kids get all excited and jump up and down!
