Stu Tower

Stu Tower (Fodor's name Tower) died this morning with his entire family around him. He was a long time member of Fodor's and had visited over 80 countries. He was eager to give advice and state his opinions no matter the consequences. After a successful career in business, he wrote a number of books including the award winning novels The Wayfarers about Rumanian Jews who make their way to Bremerrhaven before WWI and Branko.

How sad!!! Stu & I exchanged e-mails a few times. He was a great guy & well traveled. He volunteered to change his Fodors name following his posts (like I do) to Stu T when people got confused between his posts & mine.

Very sorry to hear this. He read from his newest book at a large Fodor's get-together in Boston a few years ago.

May his memory be for a blessing.

I am so sorry to see this news. I had always enjoyed Stu's posts--such a generosity of spirit--and was the recipient of his excellent advice regarding a trip to Ojai. My condolences to his family and friends.
