Stairs in Croatia?
Hi - We're heading to Croatia next month and will be travelling with a 16 month old baby. I'm debating whether to bring a stroller or backpack for him. Rough itinerary is Dubrovnik, Korcula, Hvar, Split, Zagreb. From what I've read, it sounds like we'll be climbing lots of stairs in these towns. So it seems like a stroller would just be a headache. Any comments on that? The stroller is more convenient for him to nap in, but if we are continuously having to haul it up and down stairs it won't be worthwhile.
Thanks!

Hi Apsara, Do you have an umbrella stroller? I have been to both Split and Dubrovnik, so can only say for theses two cities. In Dubrovnik, we called the climb to our apartment "the Dubrovnik stairmaster". In Split there are not so many stairs. If you are in Dubrovnik and are walking on the Stradun, and stop for dinner, a stroller might be nice for the baby, particularly if he/she falls asleep while you are out. If you bring an umbrella stroller, you can carry it down or up the steps, and then put the baby in it when you get down. The stradun is pretty smooth in most spots, so shouldn't be a problem for the stroller. I would the backpack also. I think both will be useful depending on the activity. Have a wonderful trip!! pp
