Spain Trip Help
Hello,
My wife and I and children (11, 13) are planning a trip to Spain the last week of March next year (far away but planning is half the fun). We will arrive on a Friday and leave on a Saturday. We don't plan to rent a car the whole time but might pick one up for a day or two along the way.
We are thinking we will fly into Madrid, stay three nights in Madrid, take the AVE to Seville, stay two nights, then fly to Barcelona, stay three nights and fly home from Barcelona.
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Toping this for you.
Frankly, you would have plenty to see and do in all three cities, in the time alotted, that I doubt you would really need a car.
Train from Madrid to Seville wpould be one of the best ways to travel.
There are usually cheap flights between Seville and Barcelona.

Our 11 and 14 year old children enjoyed Casa Batllo (Gaudi house), the Sagrada Familia and the Maritime Museum (very good) in Barcelona, as well as the Chocolate Museum (very small) in Barcelona. They loved Ronda, and I highly recommend Hotel Gabriel (www.innsofspain.com, I think) in Ronda - besides very comfortable rooms, it has a billiards table and soundproof T.V./movie room.

your basic trip itinerary doesn't sound too far off from what my wife and i did this past october--we had 3 nights in madrid, AVE to cordoba with 2 nights there (i day in cordoba, 1 day in granada), AVE to sevilla for 1 day, and then flew to barcelona that evening for 3 nights there before flying out of barcelona on the way back home...
i know that people will tell me that i didn't spend enough time in sevilla, but we really have no regrets...and we only spent technically one day in madrid, with one of our days being a daytrip to toledo and the other being a daytrip to segovia...
no reason for a car whatsoever, as the trains, buses, and taxis should be able to take care of you...
