There is a train direct from Sants station in Barcelona to Sitges. It is a resort town as mentioned above and many places will be closed at that time of the year. It's an OK place with a large LGBT community in summer, but hardly worth it in the winter.

We took a day and went to Sitges in 2017. It was cute but not overly impressive.
I wish we had gone to see World famous Montserrat Choir boys or to Girona instead. Barcelona has some great beaches. Go to Barcelonetta - a darling neighborhood.

I would skip Sitges in winter and go by train to wonderful Girona or Roman Tarragona instead. Both really interesting, vibrant cities within a short ride of Barcelona.
