Need any info on the recently restored "Last Judgment" exhibit in the Vaticans Sistine Chapel. Any recommended references would also be appreciative. Thanks - email address: [email protected]

If I remember correctly, the Last Judgement is on the wall behind the altar in the Sistine Chapel. If you are talking about a separate exhibit about the restoration, there were many signs around the 'central' courtyard of the Vatican museums with details about the restoration (this was in late May). Exhibits other than that--I don't know. HOpe this helps. Any good guidebook (...hmmm, Fodor's, perhaps) has the 'story' about the painting.

The sistine chapel info is available on the internet. Just do a search. I think there's also info available on the vatican site.

You have to go the the Vatican Museum to get to the Sistine Chapel. If you go in the morning, the line to get in is very long. I recommend you see St Peters in the morning, have lunch, then go to the Vatican Museum - no lines!

From November to March you must reverse your schedule since the Vatican Museums are only open until 1:45 pm. So do them in the morning and St. Peter's in the afternoon.
