A number of "Fodorites" (people who visit this forum regularly, or maybe just occasionally) and friends are planning a fall trip to Italy. Nno details are set yet. Chances are it will be for about 12 days, with options to stay fewer or more days, on your own or with other participants on the trip. Departure will most likely be between September 15 and October 15, and (connections from) almost any city in North America can be accommodated in the air travel plans. The possibility of a villa stay is being actively investigated. The trip will be strictly non-profit for all involved in the trip, planning or participating.

More information will be posted here on this board as it becomes possible. Please feel free to let me know if you would like to be on an e-mail list to receive more information, even in preliminary stages, before it is posted here.

Rex Bickers
Westerville, Ohio
Stacey, This single chick prefers going on her own. If you are the type that is comfortable on her own you might consider it, It is great fun.

Stacy -Consider Europe Through the Back Door. I've done the three-week village France tour and am taking the Turkey tour next month. I can't recommend the company highly enough.

They offer a BB&B (bed, bus &board) option, which is less expensive, and essentially all of your hotels, transportation is arranged, but when you arrive at your village or destination you're on your own. They offer a Best of Italy with this option. Check it out at www.Ricksteves.com!

My worst nightmare--traveling with that anal Rex on a tour!! Can you imagine his long winded explanations and constant rattlings?

How very mean of you, Stanley.

But as always, I will use your insensitive remarks as words of encouragement.

And I will let your anonymity stand as the badge of shame that it is.
Walking tours are fun. Here are a few names of companies that do walking tours in Italy: BCT (British Coastal Trails), Ciclismo Classico, Wayfarers, ATG, Country Walkers.
