Siena & Tuscany, It was great!

Just coming back from Italy.
Two words: Siena and its countryside...
If you're going in Tuscany don't miss it.
It's incredible...too difficult to describe the landscapes and the beauty of that place.
We stayed at the Palazzo Ravizza, a very old charming hotel with a very good restaurant, the food was excellent.
I only have their ph. number +39 0577 280462 We had an incredible day with a local guide who showed us beautiful places in the countryside and brought us out for dinner in Pienza, a very nice small mediaeval town. He's on internet, it should be something like www.toursaroundtuscany.com ; I suggest the Red Itinerary, it was fantastic...
Bye.

John Reddle

We will be going to the Cinque Terre and Tuscany areas in just four days. Will be staying in San Leonino (Hotel Belvedere) for four days with a car. Any suggestions as to what to see in this area? Hope the Hotel Belvedere in San Leonino is a good choice. Anyone been there?

We jsut returned from Tuscany on Monday-- what a fabulous trip-- don't miss the Castle di Brolio in Chianti-- it is wonderful with a small restaurant at the bottom of the hill-- we ended up just having cappacino due to the time that we arrived--Also my other two favorites were Montalcino and Pienza-- Pienza has the fabulous pecorino cheese!!
Enjoy yourself-- I have not heard of that hotel--we stayed at the Villa Scacciapensieri in Siena-- very charming-- if you have time make reservations at the Cane e Gato for dinner in Sienna-- this is a once in a lifetime dining experience!!
Mary

You're right!
Montalcino and Pienza are fabolous, the guide drove us to a small mediaeval town where we had the best lunch of all our vacation.
Guess what?! There were 0, I say zero , tourists!!!
Next time we'll be in Tuscany, I'll ask for the Blue Itinerary, so we'll see the Brolio Castle and all the other places they advertise on their web site.
Bye!

Frankly I don't understand why you all suggest only the Red Itinerary;
I took the Blue one in March, and it was great! Visiting old castles and the small towns of the Chianti Region, has been one of the most exciting experience of all my life.
I do suggest the Blue one!

Jenny.
