Sorry I can't help you yet but we also are interested in a tour of Sicily. We would like to go next year. I would appreciate any responses you get and also how much you enjoyed your tour. We have a relative in Partanna but would like a guided tour of the rest of the island. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks.

Why not ditch the tour and do it on your own. It will be cheaper, more interesting, adventuresome, and lots of fun.
We've done it twice. Car rental isn't too expensive (although gas is), accomadtions, especially small hotels and agritourismos are cheap and for the most part, very nice and interesting.
Get off the tour and really experience Sicily, from the small towns and beautiful hidden coasts, to the larger gems of cities, like Palermo, Taromina, Siracusa, and Catania.
On our last trip we stayed for 4 nights in a great room with a nice bath on a
beautiful lemon farm for $70 per night
for both of us with homemade dinner INCLUDED.
Think about touring this beautiful island on your own, off the tourist track.

Can you give me more information on the lemon farm? This sounds perfect for our trip at the end of September to Sicily.

I have a folder of notes which I made after visiting Sicily in February. I will send them to you attached to a reply if you send me an e-mail - or to anyone else who wants them.

Kathy,

I'm not a tour type person, but I can tell you about the highlights of a four day trip in February. Some friends and I took the ferry with a car from Naples. We disembarked in Palermo and spent the day there. We drove in the evening to Agrigento to see the Greek ruins. The Almond Blosssom Festival was going on when we visited and it was a lot of fun. It was very neat. After a day there we drove to Taromina and spent the rest of our time there. It is wonderful. Most people who go to Sicily visit there with good reason. It has a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful views. Siciliy was pretty inexpensive as a whole and it was pretty easy to get around. I would reccomend it tour or no tour.

Good evening, Kathy
Have not taken a tour of Sicily by Paragon, did many years ago with CIT.
Most are basically the same, go into
www.govoyageur.com/tours/sad.html.
www.travelvantage.com/ita_isl.html.
www.siciliangetaways.com/tours/tour_main.html..
www.web.tin.it/cst/southitaly98.htm.
http://www.saistours.com/itinerari/d...o/classico.htm..
You will see that the itinerary for
escorted bus and you drive are almost
identical. The main highlights of
Sicily are listed, and don't forget Montreale, Siracusa and the Roman Villa
Casale....If you drive would strongly
suggest using a tour within Palermo for
sightseeing, see the concierge at your
hotel for arrangements. Richard of
LaGrange Park, Il..
