Jaén - Feria San Lucas
My wife and I are planning to spend one night in the Jaén Parador next month (never stayed in a castle!), then move on to Ubeda for two nights.
Now I have just learned that the annual week-long Feria San Lucas will be going on while we are in Jaén. This seems like it could be great fun, music, booths, dancing, horses, etc.

The 2014 schedule is here (2 MB PDF), but I haven't found the 2015 detailed schedule yet. (Does anyone have it?)

Now we are strongly leaning towards spending two nights in Jaén and only one in Ubeda because the fair seems pretty cool. We enjoy attending our own county fairs.
Thoughts on this appreciated. Thanks!

On Google it says it takes place from Oct. 10 to 18 - andalucia.org. We got to ferias for the bullfights and eating and drinking, not the booths or the kiddy rides. You might enjoy it. Last feria of the season.

Our current night in the parador is the 16th, so we could go for 16-17, which would be the last night of the fair. We are leaning in that direction now, thinking it would be fun, interesting, and something different.

My wife will be the first to confess she likes kiddy rides (merry-go-rounds in particular), but eating and drinking will also be up on the list!
Thanks for the reply.

I´m not a big fan of Ferias, anyway is should be fun if you go to Jaen for one day but Ubeda and Baeza are a must, amazing places and also if you like nature, don´t miss Parque natural de Cazorla

alvamo, We slept on it and decide to stick with our original plan: one night in Jaen and two in Ubeda. We'll hit the Feria for a couple of hours and that will be good enough.
And we have already booked three nights in the town of Cazorla, with day trips planned into the Parque and the surrounding area.
Thanks for those links, very useful!
