Hi skaf,

We always stay at the Hotel Bonaparte, 61 Rue Bonaparte in the 6th. From 124E dbl w/bkfst. It is located near 3 metro stops. Has AC

Tel 33 1 43 26 97 37
FAX 33 1 46 33 57 67
www.hotelbonaparte.fr

For more info, enter "Hotel Bonaparte" in the "search this forum" box.

It's about 0.5km from Rue Jacob.

When I was searching for a hotel in Paris, it was important to me that the staff speak English, since I speak very little French. I chose Best Western Jardin de Cluny, a sweet little place right off rue Jacob on Sommerand, a block from St. Germain. I loved the place. Great staff. Excellent breakfast. I'd go there again in a flash. It has all your requirements and is near the metro; in fact, it's a little less expensive than what you quoted...

I'm sorry, but the Jardin de Cluny is near rue St Jacques, not rue jacob.

You might try Hotel des Marronniers on rue Jacob. Their summer rate until Aug 31 , is 112€ and goes down to 102 € after that. It is air conditioned but I don't know if it has a lift.

I have stayed at a single at Des Marronniers for 105E and it was fine. The rooms which are this price (3) have a long entry hall but the room is quite small with a twin bed, small armoir and small desk, just fine. THE bathroom however is VERY small, you almost need to keep the door open when on the potty and you need not be a very big person to get into the shower. They do have a lift.

Villa St Germain is a wonderful hotel but their cheapest room is over 250 €, certainly not in the price range the OP stated

I have stayed at Hotel Verneuil which is on rue Verneuil. It's a block from rue Jacob and the hotel is located across from Serge Gainsbourg's former home (the outside walls are covered in graffiti which is a tradition). Their single rooms are supposedly very small but the rate is within your budget. These rooms may or may not have a/c so you have to make sure and ask them. The best rooms are the deluxe doubles but they are much more than your budget.

When are you going? If it's during fall then you won't need a/c most likely.
