Hi, Mimi.
We haven't yet had a chance to meet up at Brasserie Jo--I was hoping to contact you once school was over and I had a chance to catch my breath. My wife is a cancer survivor; let me know if we can be of help.

Prayers and best wishes,

letour

Dear Mimi,

I too am new here, but I grieve for anyone who gets this devastating news. I know all too well how quickly it can turn your lives upside down. But there are good treatments available for most kinds of cancer, and many of us here are testimonials to that.

Your calm strength and reassurance can be a great help to him. I join the others here in sending prayers for both of you.

Please convey to Mimi my best wishes for strength and comfort for both her and her husband and my hopes that this will be a manageable sort of cancer. (I will write to her myself later because I'm not really big on posting very personal stuff on public internet boards.)

I'm so sorry your husband and you are going through this. He needs your strength right now, Mimi, but he is going to pull through this, you'll see. Please know that you and he are in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything at all I can do, please let me know.

Cigalechanta,

I have so enjoyed your posts on the forum. I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart. You are a lovely poster, and hopefully, all the good thoughts and prayers of others here will be answered.

Mimi,
My DH has survived 2 cancers in the last 9 years. Attitude is everything! Keep the faith, and believe!

My heart breaks for you as I have some idea what you're going through right now. It was a year ago tomorrow that my husband was diagnosed. I will be praying very hard that a year from now things look as much brighter for the two of you as they do for us right now.

Dejais Jun 23rd, 2006 03:43 PM

PLease let Mimi know our prayers and good wishes go out to her and her husband. May God look over you and give you both strength during this difficult time.

Marianna Jun 23rd, 2006 03:45 PM

I have been in contact with Mimi and we are all hoping for the best of outcomes for her husband.

Mimi and Jerry, we are all thinking of you.

hester Jun 23rd, 2006 03:47 PM

Cigalechanta,
I have also always enjoyed your posts. Both your husband and you are in my prayers.

JeanneB Jun 23rd, 2006 03:50 PM

Oh, Mimi. I wish I could bring over a casserole or cake or something! But the best I can do in this cyberworld is to send prayers and best wishes for your family.

We've just gone through 8 dark months with a family member who was diagnosed last fall. It takes all your faith and strength. Stay strong and don't ever worry that friends are "doing too much". Believe me, they always wish they could do more.

PS: It is encouraging to read all the cancer survivor comments.

loisco Jun 23rd, 2006 03:50 PM

Oh Mimi...I am so sorry to hear about this. My dear sister was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, and she is doing fine, so I wish that for you and your husband too.

Sending good thoughts your way...
