Radda

Will be staying in a home in Radda the last week of September, does anyone have suggestions on things to do or places to visit in this area?

One of the best casual places we ate at in all Italy was in Radda. I believe it was called da Michele or something like that. It was a very non descript looking place with a few tables outside, the entrance was in a gravel parking lot, right in town. The food was very, very good and very inexpensive!

Siena and Castellena are a nice day trip as is San Gimignano. Many pretty towns along the S.222 -- just be careful driving.

You must eat at Osteria alla Piazza, which is outside Castellina. It has a spectacular patio overlooking the vineyards, and wonderful food. We went for Sunday lunch, and enjoyed every minute of the 3 hr. lunch.
